I have been involved in the criminal justice system for over 36 years.  After all that time, I still like the work of representing clients.  Everyone is human, and most of us make mistakes from time to time.  Some people even find themselves in situations beyond their control. After all these years, when I am representing a person or company under investigation or who is actually being prosecuted for an alleged crime, I make it my practice to not judge what happened.  Instead, my goal at first is to understand the situation.  Only after I completely know what happened can I then come up with a plan designed to get the best possible outcome for the person I am representing.   Sometimes we are able to negotiate a good outcome.  Sometimes our opponents are not reasonable, and we have to fight.  I do not shy away from these fights, especially when my client and his or her future is on the line.
