An attorney with the Law Firm of Liz George, PLLC, Lysbeth George represents clients in Oklahoma. Her practice focuses on issues related to the following: contracts, real estate disputes, custody, divorce, employment issues and contracts for small businesses, litigation defense in collections, and compliance workouts. An adjunct professor with the Oklahoma City University School of Law, she teaches civil procedure courses.
Ms. George is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and is a member and chair of the Oklahoma Chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation. To give back to her community through volunteer work, she is a board member of Blanchard Public Schools and a member of the board of directors for the YWCA of Oklahoma City.
At Cameron University School of Music, she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music. Ms. George then attended Oklahoma City University School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude with her Juris Doctor in 2011. While in law school, she was on the Dean’s list, was given the Dean’s Legal Ethics Award, has presented the Excellence in Bankruptcy Law Award from the Oklahoma Bar Association and was given the Outstanding Graduate Award from the National Association of Women Lawyers.
Ms. George was also a member of the Public Interest Law Group and Merit Scholars and the Oklahoma City University Law Review’s staff editor. In 2018, she was named a 40 Under 40 honoree by Oklahoma Magazine, and the Oklahoma County Bar Association gave her the Pro Bono Award in 2016.
