The wreck was so traumatic, that it literally shattered Jomi’s right leg, and she spent the next year in recovery and learning to walk once more. Jomi is a wonderful woman, who left her home in Florida, and moved to Georgia to take care of her younger sister, who was then 18 years old and pregnant with her first child. Jomi had also graduated with her nursing degree, but because of this wreck, she was never able to take her boards to become certified and thus never became a real nurse. Moreover, Ms. Redding incurred over $73,000.00 in medical expenses related to her severe injuries and broken leg. On November 7, 2018, almost 6 years after the wreck, a Walton County jury found that Ms. Reddings had not caused the wreck in 2012 and was in fact the victim. The jury awarded Ms. Reddings $373,482.75 for everything that she had been through, and several concerned jurors actually waited outside in the rain, just to tell Jomi how sorry they were for everything she has been through, 2018
