James J. Macie

A 1961 summa cum laude graduate of Siena College, Mr. Macie earned a graduate degree in theology, and he spent nine years serving as a Catholic priest before making the decision to pursue law as his career. He attended the University of Georgia School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1977. A compassionate and personable attorney, Mr. Macie credits his experience as a priest for allowing him to better assist his clients with the tumultuous and traumatic emotional aspects of divorce.

Widely regarded as a leader in his field, Mr. Macie has written extensively and conducted numerous lectures and continuing legal education seminars on a variety of topics related to family law and domestic relations. In 1984, he wrote the \"Family Law Chapter\" of the Georgia Lawyers Basic Practice Handbook, and he has delivered presentations regarding child custody and visitation matters, using private investigators in domestic relation cases, and other related matters.

Active in his legal community, Mr. Macie is a member of several local, state and national bar associations, including the Clayton County Bar Association, where he currently serves on the board of directors.
