Co-founder of Schmergel & Mersberger, PLC, Dennis M. Mersberger is a criminal defense attorney with more than a decade of experience representing clients in northern Virginia. In both federal and state courts throughout Virginia, he defends juveniles and adults who are facing criminal charges. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of Virginia and before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Mr. Mersberger earned his Juris Doctor from George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. Prior to attending law school, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1996 in English literature from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, and attended the Nottingham Trent University in Nottingham, England.

A member of the Alexandria Bar Association and the Criminal Law Section of the Virginia State Bar, Mr. Mersberger is the past committee chair for the Lawyer Referral Service of the Alexandria Bar Association.
