Q Attorney Profile

A partner at Canan Law in St. Augustine, Florida, Andrew Morgan provides astute and dedicated representation to his clients throughout St. Johns, Flagler, Putnam and Duval counties. His practice is divided between criminal defense and family law matters. In the latter area, Mr. Morgan assists clients, many of whom have extensive business holdings and other valuable assets, who are facing the end of their marriages and who are dealing with divorce-related issues such as business valuations and other complex property division issues, alimony, child support, and child custody and visitation. In his criminal defense practice, Mr. Morgan provides representation to clients who have been charged by the state with felonies or misdemeanors. The types of cases that Mr. Morgan has successfully handled have included drug possession and trafficking, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, rape and other sex crimes, vehicular manslaughter, murder, robbery, domestic violence, and assault and battery. In this regard, Mr. Morgan draws on his prior experience as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney, 7th Judicial Circuit, allowing him in many cases to anticipate the types of tactics that prosecutors might employ. His successes in both of his practice areas have gained Mr. Morgan the respect of his colleagues, who have awarded him a 10.0 \"Superb\" peer review rating through Avvo. Mr. Morgan majored in business as an undergraduate, attending Eckerd College in St. Petersburg and receiving a bachelor\'s degree in 2001. After obtaining his Master of Business Administration in the following year from Winthrop University, he enrolled at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2005. A member of the 7th Circuit Grievance Committee of The Florida Bar, Mr. Morgan is an active participant in several professional organizations.
