Certified as a specialist in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Amber Vazquez is the founder of Vazquez Law Firm PLLC. From the firm\'s office in Austin, she focuses her practice on that area of the law, providing defense representation to people throughout the greater metropolitan area. Admitted to practice before all Texas state courts, Ms. Vazquez is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.
Ms. Vazquez assists clients who have been accused by the state or federal government with having committed misdemeanor or felony offenses. She has participated in more than 80 jury trials during her career, and the types of cases that she has handled have included robbery, assault, kidnapping, white collar offenses, sex crimes and homicide. Ms. Vazquez has been able to obtain acquittals in many of these cases, including in two Travis County trials dealing with murder and attempted capital murder, respectively. In other instances, she has negotiated favorable plea agreements with the prosecution. Ms. Vazquez majored in government at The University of Texas at Austin and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1997. She then pursued her legal education at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2001. Prior to forming her own firm, Ms. Vazquez worked at the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. Her professional memberships include the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
